Ingredients for the Perfect Frozen Mango Margarita

What’s the best thing about this cocktail? We’re keeping it simple. This frozen mango margarita recipe requires just four ingredients and a few ice cubes to mix to perfection. Here’s what you need:

  • Frozen Mango: Feel free to use store-bought frozen mango chunks, or use this tutorial to cut fresh mango and freeze the cubes to make this recipe.
  • tequila: I always use silver tequila in my margarita recipes because it has a lighter taste.
  • lime juice: Fresh lime juice adds acidity to balance the sweetness of the mango.
  • sweetener: To sweeten the cocktail, feel free to use agave nectar or simple syrup. Check out how to make simple syrup below! You don’t need triple sec or orange liqueur (commonly found in frozen margs).
  • ice: You may need some ice cubes to thicken your margarita to your liking.
  • To decorate: I love decorating my glasses with tagine rims and fun paper umbrellas! How cute is this?!

Yes, you can eat other fruits

As I said before, we originally made this recipe with strawberries and it was really delicious. Here are a few flavor options that make the perfect base for frozen margaritas (don’t forget to freeze them first!).

Make your own simple syrup

No agave? are you okay. Make simple syrup at home by mixing equal amounts of granulated sugar and water in a bottle and shaking for 1 to 2 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Frozen mango margaritas require 2 tablespoons each.

Our Favorite Ways to Decorate

I love adding tagine or sea salt to the rim of the glass to pair with the sweetness of the mango! Tajín is a Mexican spice blend that typically consists of dried chilies, sea salt, and dehydrated lime juice.

To add a tagine to a glass, simply do this:

  1. Cut the lime into wedges and rub the cut side of the lime along the edge of the glass.
  2. Pour the tagine (or sea salt) onto the plate.
  3. Dip the wet glass rim into the tagine to coat it.

If you like it sweet, feel free to add granulated sugar to the glass! If you want, add colorful umbrellas for an even more special feel.

How to Make Frozen Mango Margaritas

  1. Get your glasses ready. Start by adding the tagine, sea salt, or granulated sugar to the glass as described above.
  2. Mix margarita. Place frozen mango, tequila, sweetener, and lime juice in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. If the mixture seems too thin, add ice cubes and mix.
  3. Pour and serve. Pour the Mango Margarita into each glass, garnish with a fun umbrella, and serve!
