Serena Williams has been awarded the final Wimbledon singles wildcard in the women’s main draw as she prepares for her Grand Slam return.

The seven-time Wimbledon singles champion is already confident of returning to the championship for the first time in four years after receiving a doubles wildcard alongside sister Venus.

Now the 44-year-old American legend will make a stunning return to singles after receiving a final wildcard from the All England Club on Sunday.

Williams has been practicing at Wimbledon as she prepares for her return.

She posted a video to Instagram on Thursday showing herself on the Wimbledon Aorangi Park practice court with her daughters Olympia and Adira.

The American won her first competition at Queen’s last week alongside Victoria Mboko before the Canadian’s unfortunate injury curtailed the competition, leaving her with almost four years left on the court.

Afterwards, she headed to Berlin, but lost in the first round at the WTA Tour event along with Carolina Muchova.
