Emma Raducanu will compete at the Rothesay Open in Nottingham in June after deciding to skip the French Open.

Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, withdrew from Roland Garros Grand Slam qualifying this month to prepare for the grass-court season and missed last year due to wrist and ankle surgery.

The Rothesay Open, which begins on June 10, is the first WTA Tour event on the British grass-court swing, followed by Wimbledon from July 1-14.

Raducanu has played for Nottingham twice before, losing to compatriot Harriet Dart before her Wimbledon breakthrough in 2021 and missing out through injury the following year after just seven matches in the first round.

The 21-year-old joins defending champion Katie Boulter on the direct entry list for this year's tournament.

Boulter won her first WTA Tour title last summer, defeating fellow Briton Jodie Burrage, and won her second at the San Diego Open in March this year.
