Radisson Africa expansion in 2024 includes first safari lodge and debut in Morocco: Travel Weekly

Radisson Hotel Group continues its rapid expansion across Africa, building on record growth in 2023, when it signed eight deals adding 1,600 rooms to its inventory.

The hotel company plans to open five hotels in key African markets, including Egypt, Morocco and South Africa. Among the hotel additions this year is the Radisson Hotel Casablanca Gauthier, the first Radisson hotel in Morocco, scheduled to open in the second quarter. Radisson will also introduce its luxury Radisson Collection brand in Egypt through Radisson Collection Resort Marsa Alam Port Phoenice.

The expansion also includes the Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit in South Africa, Radisson's first safari hotel in Africa. The 138-room hotel recently opened near Kruger National Park and becomes the company's 11th hotel in South Africa.

The company's growth is being driven by its focus on resort-style properties and expansion into new markets such as Kenya and Tanzania. Over the past three years, Radisson has emerged as the fastest-growing hotel group in Africa, with 20 openings. Among the 2023 openings were the first properties in Nigeria and Gambia.
