US Open tee times: Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele group together at Pinehurst No 2 | golf news

Rory McIlroy was paired with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele for the first two rounds of the 124th US Open.

McIlroy, who won the 2011 US Open and is seeking his first major title since 2014, was awarded a late early draw when he teed off at 1.14pm local time (BST) at No. 2 Pinehurst on Thursday.

The Northern Ireland native plays alongside Schauffele, who won his first major title at the PGA Championship last month and has finished 14th or better in the last seven U.S. Opens. Scheffler, a pre-tournament favorite, completed a star-studded three-ball over the first two days. .

Scheffler has just one success at the Memorial Tournament on Sunday, his fifth PGA Tour victory in his last eight starts and is seeking his third major title in as many years to add to his two wins at the Masters.

When is the Sky Sports US Open held?

Sky Sports is the home of the US Open, with over 45 hours of live coverage of the four-day tournament from 13 to 16 June and plenty of additional tournament programming throughout the week.

“Live from the US Open” will provide eight hours of build-up, interviews, analysis and practice action on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of the tournament week, with coverage running daily starting at 2pm and broadcasting around the clock from each event thereafter. Four tournament rounds.

Coverage for the first two rounds will begin at 12.30pm on Thursday and Friday, with more than 12 hours live on both days, with action starting at 3pm on Saturday and 2pm on the final day.
