
The African travel industry is set to have a busy few months ahead. Registration is currently open for several major trade shows. Some of the most notable events include:
OurAfrica.Travel: The fifth edition of the digital event OurAfrica.Travel, running from February 5 to 9, begins. This online platform facilitates networking and engagement between over 400 buyers and 200 exhibitors displaying African tourism products and services.
“This show was born during lockdown to support the industry during this most difficult time. It is designed to be affordable and accessible to everyone and provides an invaluable opportunity for travel agents and tour operators around the world to connect with hotels, lodges and resorts. Other suppliers based in Africa and Indian Ocean islands are also included,” organizers said.

africa travel week: Cape Town will host the landmark 10th annual Africa Travel Week, comprising the invitation-only luxury event ILTM Africa from April 7-9 and WTM Africa from April 10-12.
WTM Africa 2024 attendees can explore a series of related events taking place simultaneously at the Cape Town International Conference Center at no additional cost. This includes incentives, business trips and conferences or IBTM Africa. Equal Africa, presented by the International Gay and Lesbian Tourism Association; tourism investment; travel technology; responsible tourism; Sports and event tourism exchange.

We are Africa: Held in Cape Town from 6 to 9 May, the show brings together a selection of premium African suppliers from across the continent offering a diverse range of African experiences.
The pre-booked appointment system allows buyers to secure a 20-minute meeting with a senior decision-maker from the continent's leading luxury travel brand. Buyers will also be given the opportunity to experience the supplier's products first-hand, either by hosting at a Cape Town-based partner hotel or by participating in one of a variety of pre- and post-tour programmes.

africa travel indaba: Travel agencies can communicate with new markets at Africa's Travel Indaba, Africa's largest travel fair, held in Durban, South Africa from May 14th to 16th.
The show provides insight into global trends and new developments in the tourism and travel industry. It also provides an opportunity to network with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
“It is the most powerful platform on the continent to meet face-to-face with the world’s most influential buyers and gain access to Africa’s excellence and endless possibilities,” organizers said.
