A package combining African wine and wildlife: Travel Weekly

A new partnership between Botswana’s Mashatu Game Reserve and South Africa’s Quoin Rock Wine Estate offers travelers a combined safari and wine country experience across both countries.

The Wilderness to Winelands program connects Mashatu’s 42,000 hectare estate, known for South Africa’s largest privately protected elephant population and frequent big cat sightings, with Stellenbosch’s famous Quoin Rock site, 45 minutes from Cape Town.

Three package options are available:
• Mashatu Euphorbia Villa combined with Quoin Rock Manor House.
• Mashatu Kolokolo Safari Home with Quoin Rock Manor House
• Mashatu Shalimpo Safari Home is combined with Knorhoek Farmhouse.

The Mashatu region offers walking safaris, cycling adventures and wildlife viewing from underground hideaways. Guests at Quoin Rock can enjoy panoramic views of the Cape Winelands from the Manor House, wine tasting, a delicious picnic and a meal at the Gate Restaurant.
