The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is scheduled to conclude the 2024 Formula 1 season this weekend ahead of the Constructors’ Championship.
McLaren has 44 points heading into Sunday’s race at Yas Marina Circuit, leading Ferrari by 21 points.
It’s been 26 years since McLaren last won the constructors’ title, and Ferrari hasn’t won since 2008. So both teams are desperate for long-awaited championship success.
Further down the rankings, Alpine is sixth, five points ahead of Haas, with millions of pounds at stake.
A runner-up spot in the Drivers’ Championship is also in the balance. That’s because Lando Norris is only eighth behind Charles Leclerc in the race, behind Max Verstappen in the standings.
Elsewhere, Mercedes are set to say goodbye to Lewis Hamilton after 12 seasons with the team before the seven-time world champion joined Ferrari.
