Agriculture Secretary Candidate Completes Trump Cabinet

Rollins’ nomination marks the last of Trump’s nominations to his cabinet of 15 advisers who lead bureaucratic departments within the U.S. government.

Each nominee must be confirmed by the Senate.

Trump has chosen a wide range of cabinet candidates, ranging from Magar loyalists to former political rivals.

Some of his candidates have attracted attention, including Robert Kennedy Jr. for Health and Human Services and Matt Gaetz for Attorney General.

Kennedy, a former environmental lawyer and vaccine skeptic who resigned as an independent after opposing Trump and supporting him, will take over the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Gaetz, a radical former Florida congressman who led the ouster of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, withdrew his candidacy and resigned after being accused of molesting a minor, soliciting sex, and using illegal drugs.

Media reported that senators made it clear that confirming Gaetz’s appointment would be difficult. Gaetz denied any wrongdoing but said he withdrew from consideration because he was a “disturbance.”

Trump wasted no time and quickly nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his successor.

Another candidate, Pete Hegseth, was also embroiled in scandal. It comes after a police report revealed new details about the former Fox News host’s alleged sexual assault with a woman in 2017.

Hegseth has denied any wrongdoing and insisted the encounter was consensual. He has never been arrested or charged.

Linda McMahon (former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment), a candidate for Secretary of Education, has also been criticized for her lack of educational experience.
