If you love restaurant-style fried mushrooms but want a lighter version at home, you might like these. Breadcrumb Air Fryer Mushroom. I love using my air fryer to make crispy, golden-breaded food without the grease. Air fryers keep mushrooms moist and flavorful while producing a golden, crispy coating using only a fraction of the oil. It’s the perfect side dish to eat with your favorite dipping sauce or with any meal.

- White whole mushrooms: Wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel and pat dry. Leave the small ones intact and cut the large ones in half.

- Breadcrumbs: Coat the mushrooms with Italian breadcrumbs and grated Pecorino Romano cheese. Locatelli is my favorite Pecorino brand, but any kind will work.
- garlic: Finely chop the garlic and add to the breadcrumb mixture. Cooking mushrooms gives off a delicious aroma.
- Hub: Thyme and rosemary add a refreshing taste.

How to make mushrooms in an air fryer

- Dredge station setup: Beat eggs in a bowl and mix remaining ingredients (except mushrooms) in another bowl.
- Mushroom Coating: Dip the mushrooms into the egg and then into the breadcrumb mixture. After coating all the mushrooms, lightly drizzle with oil to make them crispy.
- Air Fry: Place the mushrooms in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them so they can crisp up. Air fry at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally.
