India’s private aviation regulatory agencies have completed improved safety inspections from 24 out of 33 BOEING 787 DREAMLINERs of AIR India without finding “major safety issues.”
“The aircraft and related maintenance systems have been found to comply with existing safety standards,” the Indian Civil Aviation Bureau (DGCA) said in a Tuesday statement.
The agency was inspected on June 12 with the collision of the AIR India Flight 171, and was operated with Dreamliner and died on the ground with 270 people.
DGCA plans to complete two additional inspections on Tuesday after the statement was announced and planned another test on Wednesday.
Four of the six different Dreamliners of AIR India are in the maintenance hangar, and are currently in Delhi and are discontinued. DGCA performs safety checks on each plane before returning to the operation.
