Allegiant Air is adding a new nonstop route between Columbus, Ohio, and Key West, Florida, scheduled to begin service May 21, 2026.
The new flights will operate between Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus and Key West International Airport, providing a direct connection between central Ohio and the Florida Keys. Services are provided twice a week.
The route adds another Midwestern gateway to Key West, a destination that continues to attract steady demand thanks to its small footprint and unique island character. You’ll arrive just minutes from the Old Town, where narrow streets are lined with pastel-colored conch houses, outdoor cafes and small guesthouses tucked behind wooden gates. Duval Street runs straight through the center of it all, connecting harbor views at one end to the Atlantic coastline at the other.
Key West International Airport has expanded in recent years with terminal upgrades to accommodate increased passenger traffic and additional direct flights. The airport’s proximity to the island’s center speeds up the arrival process. Most hotels, marinas and historic centers are within a short drive.
Rickenbacker International Airport continues to build its leisure-focused route portfolio with an emphasis on point-to-point service to warm-weather destinations. The addition of Key West strengthens the Florida network and introduces a non-stop option that previously required connections through larger hubs.
The twice-weekly schedule supports long weekends and extended stays to fit typical vacation travel patterns. Launching in late May, the first flight will come at the forefront of the summer season, when demand for domestic solar destinations typically accelerates.
With the new Columbus service, Key West continues to expand its reach into U.S. secondary markets while strengthening its position as one of the most accessible island-style vacation destinations in the continental United States.
