AmaWaterways is expanding its African land cruise offering with four new itineraries next year.
The itinerary combines a Chobe River cruise on the Zambezi Queen with a land program including a safari. New destinations are Kenya, Namibia, Zanzibar and the Skeleton Coast. Travel duration ranges from 9 to 18 nights.
“Cape to Falls” includes 3 nights in Cape Town, 3 nights cruise on the Zambezi Queen and 3 nights in Victoria Falls. Guests visit Boulders Beach to see African penguins, the prison where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and vineyards.
While on the cruise, travelers will go on a boat safari, visit local villages and participate in a wildlife safari. There is an optional 2-night extension in Johannesburg. Prices start at $13,770 per person.
“Iconic Africa” will take guests on a 14-night trip that includes three nights in the Greater Kruger National Park. While in the park, guests stay in tented safari lodges. The trip begins in Cape Town and ends in Johannesburg, where you will visit the Apartheid Museum. A highlight of this itinerary is time spent at the park, where guests can enjoy game drives. Prices start at $18,620 per person.
The 14-night itinerary “Classic Kenya and Southern Africa” includes 1 night in Johannesburg, a 3-night cruise, 3 nights in Victoria Falls and 7 nights in Kenya. Travelers can extend their trip to four nights in Zanzibar.
While in Zimbabwe, guests will embark on a night game drive in search of the endangered black rhino. Highlights of the itinerary include a visit to the Orphan Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Nairobi, a visit to the Maasai Mara, and camping at a luxury camp in Amboseli. Prices start at $20,645 per person. Guests can extend their stay by 4 nights in Zanzibar.
“African Wonders & the Skeleton Coast” takes travelers on a 15-night adventure through Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, including eight nights in Namibia.
The itinerary includes a game drive, a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River and a visit to Namibrand Nature Reserve, one of the largest in Africa.
While in Swakopmund, guests can take a catamaran cruise to see marine life. Prices start at $20,445 per person.
