Ama Waterways said it will introduce two new steel vessels in 2026, the Vietnam/Cambodia AmaKaia and the European AmaSofia.

With an expected launch date of May 24, 2026, AmaSofia will be AmaWatwerways' 24th vessel in Europe. We plan to sail on the Rhine and Danube rivers. AmaSofia's first 14-night itinerary sails between Amsterdam and Budapest.

AmaSofia is scheduled to operate 31 departures in 2026, including several Danube itineraries, including a Christmas market cruise.

AmaKaia is scheduled to begin its maiden voyage on August 3, 2026. AmaKaia will join AmaDara on the Mekong River.

AmaKaia plans to operate 22 cruises in 2026 and up to 38 cruises in 2027. Land expansion is possible in several cities, including Siem Reap, home to the Angkor Wat temple complex.
