American Airlines gets approval to fly New York-Tokyo Haneda: Travel Weekly

American Airlines announced that it has received temporary approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to launch nonstop flights between New York JFK and Tokyo Haneda Airport.

American Airlines will be the only U.S. carrier to operate the route between JFK and Tokyo Haneda, complementing existing service operated by joint venture partner Japan Airlines.

AA said it will launch the service in the coming months. It will become American’s fourth daily nonstop service to Haneda, joining existing daily service from Dallas/Fort Worth and twice-daily flights from Los Angeles.
