Burke’s trial is scheduled for Aug. 31. The trial will begin within 90 days of that date.
Prosecutors alleged Burke stabbed the teen before dismembering her body following years of alleged sexual abuse.
They claim he killed her because the teen exposed his affair with a minor and threatened to destroy his multi-million dollar music career.
Evidence read in court on Monday showed Celeste made threats to Burke on April 22, 2025, over a dispute over his friendship with another woman.
“I swear to God I’ll kill you” followed a text message containing an expletive, followed by threats to strangle him to death and lie to her father about him. “I will end your career and damage your life, whatever,” one text said.
The next day, Hernandez took the Uber he had sent to pick Burke up and went to Burke’s Hollywood home.
Prosecutors alleged Burke stabbed her upon arrival.
