Anguilla Beaches won the top 10 award.

Two beaches in Anguilla earned top 10 honors at the 2024 USA Today’s Reader’s Choice Awards. Meads Bay Beach and Shoal Bay Beach came sixth and eighth respectively in a competition to name the world’s best beaches.

Anguilla Minister of Tourism, Hon. Haydn Hughes praised the achievement, saying: “This award highlights the incomparable beauty of our beaches. Anguilla’s pristine beaches are not just spectacular, they are an inspiring and captivating experience for all who visit.”

He continued: “We invite the world to share in the unique and unforgettable experiences Anguilla has to offer.” The Minister also spoke about the variety of experiences on the island that attract a wide range of visitors. These experiences include “delicious cuisine, world-class golf, top-notch tennis facilities, diving adventures, offshore reefs and luxury spas.” These experiences “encapsulate all of our warm hospitality that makes Anguilla an unrivaled destination.”

Ms. Melisha Maccow-Niles, Chairperson of Anguilla Tourism Board, emphasized the importance of this honour. “USA Today is the third-largest print newspaper in the United States with a digital readership of more than 2 million,” she said. Mrs Maccow-Niles sees the nomination of Meads Bay and Shoal Bay beaches as a major achievement. Being ranked as two of the top ten beaches is an outstanding compliment for Anguilla.
