Antigua has a new foodie destination

There’s a new reason to stop by Antigua’s Sugar Ridge. This time it’s not just for the tables.

Rocks Groupthe hospitality group behind some of the island’s most in-demand restaurants, has officially expanded into retail. locaThis is a new upscale deli, wine shop, and cafe concept opening on March 28th.

This is the first time a team has fallen behind shearlocks, Catherine’s Cafe, Rokuni and fat sea urchin We took our approach beyond the restaurant floor. This is a move that brings the same focus on sourcing, presentation and product into spaces designed for both visitors and villa guests.

A new kind of food and wine stop in Antigua

Roca was built as a hybrid concept: part modern deli, part wine shop, and part casual café.

Inside, premium ingredients and ready-to-eat options take center stage. You’ll find a variety of cheeses and charcuterie, cured meats, fresh seafood, pantry staples and prepared dishes, as well as takeaway items designed for beach or villa dining.

The idea is simple. Instead of booking a Rocks Group experience for your meal, Roca gives you access to the same level of products and curation, whether you’re stocking your private kitchen or stocking up on something for dinner.

Wine program with private cellar

Wine is a major part of the concept.

Roca has a dedicated cellar space designed for tastings and small group experiences, and an in-house team that includes a sommelier who provides guidance, pairings and curated selections.

It’s a more practical approach than traditional retail stores. You can go in to buy a bottle, but you can also sit down for a guided tasting or get help planning what to serve in your villa.

A space designed for long stays

The design came from a Belgian studio. alwaysThe layout keeps the space open and easy to navigate.

The shelves are built for browsing with a mix of packaged and fresh items, while the café-style space adds another layer to the experience. You can enjoy coffee, bread, and simple dishes, making it a space where you can spend time rather than just passing by.

This is a natural extension of what Rocks Group has already built across Antigua: spaces that combine food, environment and atmosphere in a way that feels cohesive across a variety of concepts.

From restaurants to retail stores

Roca marks a new direction for the group, but remains closely aligned with what made the restaurant stand out.

Roca takes elements from all of them – high-quality ingredients, strong sourcing relationships, and a clear point of view – and places them in a format that works outside of the traditional restaurant environment.

A new addition to Antigua’s culinary landscape

The opening also signals a wider shift in Antigua’s dining landscape, where the lines between restaurants and retail outlets are beginning to blur.

For travelers staying in villas or long-term accommodations, access to carefully selected food and wine has become part of the experience. Roca provides a centralized location where you can shop, taste and plan right into the space.

It also introduces: Roka’s Friends The concept is a community-driven program built around tastings, events and new product launches, designed to keep customers connected beyond a single visit.
