Apple is reportedly building a more conversational Siri based on LLM.

According to sources cited by Bloomberg, Apple is developing a new version of its voice assistant Siri based on advanced Large Language Models (LLMs). These conversational Siri are part of Apple’s attempt to keep up with AI. Competitors, like Google’s Gemini Live, have released impressive features that are much more natural to talk to than Siri.

The new Assistant will reportedly completely replace the Siri interface users currently use, and Apple plans to launch the feature in spring 2026. This feature is similar to OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode, but access will likely be the same for everyone. Personal information and apps Siri currently holds.

Until then, Apple had relied on third parties to power the iPhone’s advanced AI features. OpenAI’s ChatGPT will be available within Apple Intelligence in December, and Apple has reportedly discussed similar deals with other AI providers such as Google and Anthropic.
