Apple is reportedly planning to release a new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro in the first half of next year.
Bloomberg reports that the company is currently developing four models of new tablets with faster chips. The company is also developing a new “entry-level” MacBook Pro, internally called the K104, the publication said. The company is also targeting the same time frame for the launch of its first M7 processor.
The last time Apple released the iPad Pro was in October last year. Last March, the company launched a new high-end MacBook Pro and a budget laptop, the MacBook Neo. However, the Neo uses the A18 chip, which was originally designed for the iPhone. This highly anticipated new MacBook is expected to be a full-fledged Pro.
The apparent product plans come amid whispers of other future releases (possibly including a foldable phone) as the company prepares for the post-Tim Cook era as CEO while also battling supply chain issues that Cook has said forced price hikes. These price increases have been significant in some cases. For example, the MacBook Pro with 1 terabyte of storage recently went up from $1,699 to $1,999. So if the company is working on more budget-friendly laptops and tablets, now would be a good time to introduce them.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for further information.
