Apple today announced that Luca Maestri, Apple’s Chief Financial Officer, will step down from his role as an executive, effective January 1. Kevan Parekh, Apple’s current Vice President of Financial Planning, will be promoted to Chief Financial Officer after 11 years at Apple.
Maestri, who has served as Apple’s CFO since 2014, will now transition to a different role at the company, reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook. Cook said in a press release that Maestri will continue to lead the Enterprise Services team, which includes information security and real estate.
Apple did not give a reason for the change, but said it was “part of a planned succession.”
