Apple’s Vision Pro could add support for PlayStation VR controllers.

Apple is working to make its Vision Pro mixed reality device more attractive to gamers and game developers, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The Vision Pro has been pitched as being more of a productivity and media consumption device than one aimed at gamers, as it relies partly on eye and hand controls rather than incorporating a separate controller.

But if Apple wants to expand the Vision Pro’s user base, it may need gamers. Especially since Gurman reports that fewer than 500,000 units have been sold so far. So the company is reportedly talking to Sony about adding support for hand controllers on the PlayStation VR2, while also talking to developers about whether the game will support controllers.

By providing more precise control, Apple could make other types of software, such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Photoshop, work with Vision Pro.
