Approximately 23,000 pounds of ground beef have been recalled due to E. coli contamination.

CS Beef Packers LLC, located in Kuna, Idaho, is recalling 22,912 pounds of raw beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O145, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The raw beef items were produced on January 14th and then frozen. The following products are being recalled:

  • Cardboard case containing 8 10-pound packs. A lump of “BEEF, COARSE GROUND, 73 L” with case code 18601, “Use/Freeze By: 02/04/26” and a timestamp between 07:03 and 08:32 printed on two stickers affixed to the outside of the case. The date and time stamp is also printed directly on Chubb’s clear packaging.
  • Cardboard case containing four 10-pound packs. “FIRE RIVER FARMS CLASSIC BEEF FINE GROUND 73L” case code 19583, “Use/Freeze By: 02/04/26” and a timestamp between 07:03 and 08:32 printed on two stickers affixed to the outside of the case. The date and time stamp is also printed directly on Chubb’s clear packaging.
  • Cardboard case containing four 10-pound packs. “FIRE RIVER FARMS CLASSIC BEEF FINE GROUND 81L” case code 19563, “Use/Freeze By: 02/04/26” and a timestamp between 07:03 and 08:32 printed on two stickers affixed to the outside of the case. The date and time stamp is also printed directly on Chubb’s clear packaging.

The recalled products have the establishment number “EST. 630” inside the USDA inspection mark on the outside of the case and printed directly on Chubb’s clear packaging.

The recalled ground beef was shipped to distributors in California, Idaho, and Oregon for further distribution to food service locations.

The problem was discovered during FSIS testing at a downstream customer, where sampling showed the presence of E. coli O145.

There are no confirmed reports of illness resulting from consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about illness should contact their health care provider.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in food freezers. We urge food service locations not to serve these products. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
