Archaeologists found a 3,500 -year -old city in Peru.

Archaeologists have published the discovery of ancient cities in the northern Baranka.

The 3,500 -year -old city, PEHñico, is considered to have been used as a major trading hub connecting people in the Andes and Amazon basin.

Located about 200 km north of Lima, the site is about 600 meters above sea level (1,970 feet) and is believed to have been established between 1,800 and 1,500 BC.

Researchers say that this discovery has become the oldest civilization of America.

The drone scenes published by researchers show the prototype of the city -centered hill terrace.

The eight -year study on this site discovered 18 structures, including ritual employees and residential complexes.

In the building of the site, the researchers found a necklace made of ritual objects, clay sculptures of humans and animal figures, beads and shells.

Peñico is located close to CARAL, which is recognized as the oldest civilization in the Americas and was founded in SUPE VALLEY, Peru, 3,000 B.C.E. 5,000 years ago.

Caral features 32 monuments, including a large pyramid structure, sophisticated irrigation agricultural and urban settlement. It is believed to be separated from the initial civilizations of India, Egypt, Sumi and China.

Dr. Ruth Shady, an archaeologist who led the recent study of Peñico and the discovery of CARAL in the 1990s, said it was important to understand what Caral civilization is after death by climate change.

The PEHñico community said, “It is located in a trade strategic position for social exchange with the coast, highlands and jungles.”

At a press conference on Thursday, Marco Machacuay, a researcher at the Ministry of Culture, said the importance of Peñico is in the continuity of Karal society.

Peru has the most important archaeological discovery of the Americas, including the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu and the mysterious Nazka line engraved along the central coast.
