One state governor said at least eight people died in a hot air balloon accident in Brazil.
Jorginho Mello, Governor of Santa Katarina, said 21 balloons were boarded on Saturday morning.
13 people, including pilots, survived and no one was missing, the state media office said.
It added that the balloon crashed near the health center.
“According to the pilot, one of the survivors, the fire began in the basket and began to lower the balloon, and told people to jump when the balloon was very close to the ground.”
“They started jumping, but some people did not manage. Flame began to grow and the balloon began to rise again because of weight.
“Later, it fell due to the loss of suspension.”
The state media office said 13 survivors were taken to a nearby hospital.
MELLO, who is performing China’s official duties in the video posted on X, said he is “rescuing his family, helping his family, helping, relaxing, and continuing to monitor the situation.
“We are mourning. What happened is tragedy,” he added.
“We will investigate why this happened. But now is to do everything possible to reach people and families.”
Brazilian LUIZ Inácio Lula da Silva expressed “Solidarity with the Victim’s family.”
He said, “The federal government was deployed to the victim’s disposal, and” the state and local governments “are trying to keep the survivors’ structure and care.
