Australia: Woman stops deadly snake on Melbourne motorway

A driver was forced to make an unexpected stop after discovering a deadly snake inside his car and slithering up his leg on a Melbourne motorway.

Victoria Police said officers were called to conduct a welfare check on a woman who was acting hysterical on the side of the road as she tried to flag down passing vehicles.

The woman told police she was driving at 80km/h on the Monash Highway when she felt something catch her foot.

Melbourne Snake Control was called in to retrieve the animal, which was confirmed to be a tiger snake, one of the most venomous reptiles in the world.
