The trial of the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway is scheduled to begin in Oslo on Tuesday. Marius Borg Høiby was charged with 38 counts, including sexually assaulting four women, assaulting and threatening his girlfriend and damaging her apartment, as well as drug charges and driving offences.
If convicted, he could face more than 10 years in prison.
On Sunday, Hojbi was arrested for the fourth time since he has been in police custody since August 2024.
This comes as links between his mother and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came to light.
Paul Kirby, the BBC’s European digital editor, reports from outside the courthouse.
