BBC SOME DUMOR AWARD 2025 released

The BBC is currently looking for a rising star of African journalism for the BBC News Komla Dumor Award for 10 years.

Journalists across Africa are invited to apply for this statue and aim to find and promote fresh talents on the continent.

The winner spends three months at the BBC headquarters in London and gains technology and experience.

The application is closed at 23:59 GMT on March 20, 2025.

Dumor’s widow, Kwansema Dumor, said on the BBC that he was “proud” about her husband’s influence.

Dumor, famous for supporting powerful and dynamic journalism, had a great influence on Africa and other worlds.

The BBC is trying to maintain his legacy by winning awards so that African journalists can tell international audiences with original and subtle African stories.

Dumor was the presenter of Africa Foor Africa, the BBC’s first daily TV news program in English for African audience. It was broadcast on the BBC World News and now merged with the BBC News Channel to create a single 24 -hour TV news service.

He was also one of the lead presenter of the EUROPEAN MORNING SEGMENT of the BBC World News.

After 10 years of broadcast journalism in Ghana, he joined the BBC in 2007 and won the reporter of the year of the year.

Between 2007 and 2009 he was hosted by Network Africa for BBC World ServicesBefore joining the Today Today program.

In 2009, Dumor became the first organizer of the African Business News Program of the African Business Report. He crossed Africa and met with the best entrepreneurs in Africa and reported on the latest business trends on the continent.

In 2013, Dumor appeared in the list of 100 most influential Africanists in the New African Magazine.
