Along the coast, music wafts across the water, sails move in the distance, and crowds gather in beach bars as the day draws to a close. Regattas have always attracted sailors from all over the world, but most of the action takes place offshore.
Now there is a new path.

The idea is simple. The idea is to bring the energy of the regatta onto the sand and expose it to a wider audience, not just those racing or following along in the boats.
This is a change that reflects how the event has evolved.
For more than 50 years, Antigua Sailing Week has been centered around the racecourse, where thousands of sailors arrive each year to compete and travel by sea around the island.
But interest in the event grew beyond the boats.
Along with residents, visitors staying on land were looking for more ways to get into the spirit of the week without having to participate in the racing themselves.
Riddim & Tides is designed to meet these needs.
Instead of watching from afar, you enter a shared environment where different parts of the event come together: the beach, the music, the offshore boats, and more.
Located on one of Antigua’s most popular beaches
Location plays a big role.
Ffryes Beach stretches along Antigua’s west coast, with its wide white sand and calm waters attracting locals and visitors alike seven days a week. This is the kind of beach where people settle down for the day and stay while the light changes and the mood sets.
The settings will be applied to the event.
The stage is placed on sand. Boats gather just offshore. As day approaches evening, the beach gradually fills up.

What sets Riddim & Tides apart is the way it connects what happens on land with what happens right offshore.
Boaters are expected to gather directly at Ffryes Beach to create a floating extension of the event. Powerboats, sailboats and local vessels all congregate in the same area, creating a noticeable link between the regatta and the beach.
Beyond the sand, you can see boats anchored just beyond the coastline.

The event features a mix of local and international food vendors along with a selection of hospitality venues located across the beach.
Move between the stalls, grab something to eat and return to the shoreline or stage without leaving the flow of the event. Branded bars and beach facilities are dotted throughout the area, so you can enjoy a drink nearby.
