Caribbean tourism leaders will gather on multi-sector sustainability in Belize at the Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development (STC 2026). The four-day forum will be held from April 27 to April 30, 2026. The location is Caribeville, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.
The event will focus on the theme “Full Color Tourism: Integrating Economies in Blue, Green, Orange and Beyond into Sustainable Planning and Development”. This framework will promote coordinated planning across the maritime, land-based, cultural and social dimensions of the visitor economy.
“STC 2026 reflects the Caribbean region’s commitment to reimagine tourism as a powerful driver of inclusive growth, climate resilience and cultural vitality,” said Dona Regis-Prosper, Secretary General and CEO of the CTO. She says this approach “will encourage destinations to move beyond piecemeal planning and adopt integrated models that balance environmental stewardship, cultural identity, community well-being and economic opportunity.”
Belize’s Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler, said Belize was honored to host the 2026 SOTC. “This conference highlights Belize’s commitment to sustainable tourism and strengthens our role as a catalyst for innovation and responsible growth in the Caribbean region. STC 2026 will serve as a dynamic platform for bold ideas and strategic partnerships. We invite industry partners and policymakers to join us to help shape the sustainable future of tourism in the Caribbean.”
The four-day conference will emphasize practical, comprehensive outcomes rather than individual initiatives. The sessions combine expert plenary sessions, technical breakouts and masterclasses with high-level ministerial dialogues. There will also be site visits to demonstrate replicable practices in sustainable operations, community engagement and climate adaptation.
