Bermuda’s air traffic continues to grow, according to new data released this week at the CTO Air Connectivity Summit in Hamilton.
According to ASM’s Edmond Rose, keynote speaker at the event, Bermuda’s air traffic increased 11% last year, marking its second consecutive year of growth.
That trend continues as of 2026, with 15,000 more seats added than in 2025, Rose said.
This is a 6% increase in seats compared to last year.
Much of that stems from the rapid expansion of BermudAir, a new airline based in Bermuda. BermudAir has added numerous new routes over the past two years, bringing its total to nine different scheduled routes between Bermuda and cities in the United States and Canada.
Rose said the biggest opportunity is the off-season, when there is “capacity that is still untapped for more visitors.”
One interesting point was the area of opportunity for tourism in Bermuda. Chicago, Rose said, is Bermuda’s “largest unconnected destination” with good potential for both origin-destination traffic and connecting flights.
