What's special about Dior Lip Oil?

There are so many reasons why people love Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil.

The biggest selling point is that it combines the hydration of a lip balm with the shiny finish of a gloss, thanks to its formula that’s infused with hyaluronic acid and cherry oil. It gives you tons of shine, but it doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky or tacky. Dior’s lip oil comes in 11 pretty shades with Color Reviver technology. It reacts with your skin to give you a subtle hint of color. And the customized shade lasts even after the gloss finish wears off. The gloss has a wonderful, subtle vanilla mint scent, and it has a super soft, thick doe-foot applicator that’s easy to sweep on and use. Oh, and that’s right, Dior lip oil adds a little volume to your lips without stinging or tingling.

It's so versatile, whether you wear it alone, with a lip pencil, or over another lip color!

Are there any fake Dior lip oils?

There are many things to love about this product. One thing people don’t like is that it costs $40. That makes it a real luxury item. Luckily, there are some great lip oils out there that are less expensive but offer the same benefits. Here are the best Dior lip oil dupes.

NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: NYX Fat Oil went out of its way to take Dior’s crown without compromise, offering many of the same benefits as Dior Lip Oil but at a quarter of the price. It’s no wonder it’s now a best-seller in the drugstore lip oil category.

Looking for a big, thick applicator, tons of shine, hydration (here, it’s made with cloudberry oil, raspberry oil, and vegan squalane), and a gorgeous shade range of 14? Vegan and cruelty-free NYX has you covered. If you want a knockoff of Dior’s most popular lip oil shade, 001 Pink, try NYX’s “Missed Call,” which is pretty similar. Overall, this color is a bit more saturated than Dior, but still subtler than your average lipstick.

Milani Cosmetics Fruit Fetish Lip Oil

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: Milani’s Vitamin E-based Fruit Fetish Lip Oil is another popular budget Dior lip oil. I agree with the lovely shine, long-lasting lip tint, large, soft applicator, and fruity, sweet scent. However, some users say it is a bit stickier than Dior’s lip oil.

Elf Glow Reviver Lip Oil

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: elf Glow Reviver Lip Oil offers hydration, a pleasantly cushiony application, and a vegan and cruelty-free formula. Ingredients include vegan squalane and apricot, avocado, and jojoba seed oils. Overall, it’s a top-notch, affordable alternative to Dior lip oil. Some users find the mint scent a bit chemical-like, but the color may not last as long as some of the other lip oils listed here.

Fenty Skin Fenty Treats Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil

Image: Sephora

Why we love it: From the beloved beauty brand founded by Rihanna, Fenty Treatz Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil is a super-conditioning oil made with lovely ingredients like jojoba seed, rosehip, and sweet cherry seed oils. Each of these four shades has a unique, fruity, and sweet scent. This is a really hydrating lip oil, so if you have dry lips, this is a great place to start. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. The only downside is that it’s only available in four shades right now, but we hope more come out soon!

Milk Makeup Cush Sheer Hydrating Lip Oil

Image: Sephora

Why we love it: Milk Makeup KUSH Sheer Hydrating Lip Oil is really good for your lips thanks to its soothing hemp seed oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, and Japanese camellia. This lip oil comes in six very subtle shades, each with its own delicious scent. However, the colors are very muted, so if you want a more intense, pigmented finish, look elsewhere.

iNNBEAUTY Glaze Lip Oil

Why we love it: iNNBEAUTY has some really fun products, and their Glaze Lip Oil is no exception. It comes in bold, bright packaging and comes in nine gorgeous shades, including the brand’s “Mystery” shade, which changes to pink based on your unique pH level. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and contains a blend of amazing ingredients like jojoba seed oil, pomegranate extract, and glycerin.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is not a new product. In fact, Clarins originally launched the lip oil “PD” (aka pre-Dior) in 2015. Now in its 10th year, it has since won awards and garnered fans.

Originally called Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, it only came in two shades, and has since been refined and updated. This lip oil is a blend of sweet briar rose oil, jojoba oil, and hazelnut oil, which are very conditioning for the lips. It is an overall soothing, hydrating, and calming product. It currently comes in 10 shades, 5 of which are pH-responsive, allowing for custom shades. Clarins lip oils are really intensely hydrating, and they apply with a very soft, cushiony applicator. It is on the swanky side for the price, but still cheaper than Dior for premium beauty.

Etude Dear Darling Oil Tint

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: K-beauty brand Etude’s popular Dear Darling Oil Tint comes in six pretty shades that leave a lasting tint even after the gloss has faded. They’re also great on the lips and come at a price that’s easy on your wallet. Note: If you want a Dior pink dupe, try Etude’s Red Oil or Pink Oil shades. Both offer a sweet, natural pink tint with a strong shine.

It doesn't have as smooth an applicator as some of the other lip oils on this list, so if you like a cloud-like feel when applying your oil, this might not be the product for you.

Bloomeffects Tulipscreen Hydrating Lip Oil 100% Mineral SPF 40+

Image: Bloomeffects

Why we love it: This new lip oil from Bloomeffects has SPF 40+, and you can think of it as a triple-duty lip nourishment booster with vegan squalane, Medfoam, Tulip Complex, and Bisabolol. It also comes in a ton of pretty colors (there are currently three). and Protect yourself from the sun with a physical sunscreen (i.e. mineral sunscreen).

Unlike many lip oils on the market, this one is fragrance-free, so it is gentler on the lips than the scented ones. Note that the lovely color is dark and a shade darker than your average lip oil. In this case, you won’t save money compared to Dior Lip Oil, but you will get the benefit of SPF and this formula may be a better fit for your needs.
