Great coffee is easy to find anywhere in the Caribbean. our island is After all, it is home to some of the most famous coffee varieties in the world. But finding great coffee is often difficult in the region’s most touristy areas. At least that was my experience.
Explore Palm Beach in Aruba. Most common coffee brand: Dunkin. (Not dushi.) Most other places are Starbucks. (*Shudder.*) Starbucks also stands out in Jamaica, home of the legendary Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.
(And no, Starbucks in Jamaica does not serve local Jamaican coffee. At least not all the time. That’s a real crime if you ask me.)
All of this brings me to Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach resort area and Happy Days Paddle and Coffee. you love For great coffee (and even better people), don’t miss Happy Days!
I stumbled upon the best coffee place in Grand Cayman for me. It was April 2026. extended Stay in Cayman. My home at the time was the Marriott Grand Cayman.
Mae Marriott Coffee
Now, I really loved my stay at this particular Marriott. Nice and comfortable rooms, great views, decent food…
But I wasn’t very satisfied with the coffee.
Now, I am not a coffee expert/snob. My regular cup is simple. A standard double espresso or a black iced coffee with a splash of half and half. No sweeteners. No fragrance additives. There is nothing to detract from or overpower the natural robust properties of coffee.
In other words, I don’t have a frou-frou brew.
My Marriott coffee is, you know… Okay. It’s a bit dull. Moderate. Nothing to write home about.
On my last morning in Grand Cayman, I decided to find something better. I got into my rental car, turned left and headed north. Surely there had to be something better between the popular shops, resorts and restaurants of West Bay Road?
Almost immediately I saw this cheerful looking little food truck and was inspired to stop.

I found Yaz inside.
Mr Happy Days
Yaz, the embodiment of walking, talking, caffeinated fun, owns/operates Happy Days with his wife Sarah. Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yaz lived in Canada before moving to Cayman in the early 2000s. Originally from Toronto, Sarah arrived in Cayman in 2018. Between then and their meeting in 2026, they met, married, started a family, and created a wonderful combination of a roadside coffee café and a paddleboard rental shop.
To be more specific about the business, Happy Days opened in October 2023 and settled into its current location in April 2025.
That said, they’re just a new face around Seven Mile Beach. But the quality of the coffee at Happy Days makes me think they’ll be here for a very long time.
Yaz, you know, very Passion for good coffee.
no. Please check the following: He is very passionate about GREAT coffee..

To him, a cup of coffee is not just a drink. Fresh, high-quality coffee beans are important. It matters where the beans come from. (Happy Days sources its coffee from Costa Rica.) Barista tools and equipment are important.
Care is also important in achieving optimal extraction. I’m talking about a type of extraction that is timed to perfectly limit the bitterness of the plant fibers at the end of the process while maximizing the sweet/syrupy goodness and bright sour/citrus notes at the beginning.
Yes, you will enjoy all the happy days. Yaz is sure.
But Yaz’s grumpy approach to coffee contrasts with her warm, friendly, and very personable personality. He’s not a coffee snob either. At least not in the traditional stuffy, arrogant way. Instead, Yaz exudes fun, positivity, and inclusiveness. It is impossible to leave this place with a smile on your face and a good cup of coffee in your hand.
Indeed, for Grand Cayman’s coffee lovers, the happiest days begin here.
Editor’s note: As you can see above, coffee isn’t the only thing on the menu at Happy Days. But I haven’t tried their natural smoothies or gelato treats. I didn’t even get to go paddleboarding with Yaz and Co. But both are on my list for my next Cayman adventure. So stay tuned for future stories about both.
If you go…
Happy Days is open daily from 7am to 2pm. Located at 720 West Bay Road, just south of Buckingham Square Shopping Mall. Have a cup of coffee, laugh and have a good conversation. And please say hello to Yaz and Sarah for me.
Oh, and be sure to follow them on Instagram for the latest news, specials, and fun videos of Yaz doing just this.
