Boat Bike Tours calls its Egypt itinerary the first of its kind: Travel Weekly

Boat Bike Tours has been licensed to travel the Nile by e-bike and is offering itineraries next year.

The 13-day trip includes eight days of guided cycling and a Nile cruise on the Nebu, a luxury ship owned by Central Holidays.

The company says the Egypt tour is the first of its kind to visit “places few travelers go,” including the Giza Plateau among the pyramids. From Luxor, you will cycle across the West Bank to the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut.

CEO Laurens Winkel calls it “the most innovative itinerary we have ever offered.”

Egyptologists will meet guests throughout the tour. Riders will cycle anywhere from 4 to 32 miles per day.

The itinerary begins in the Red Sea beach town of Hurghada and ends in Cairo. Riders will “circle between temples, glide along quiet canal paths and explore hidden corners rarely seen by travelers.”

Guests will explore the country’s temples, tour Nubian villages and visit the Aswan Nature Reserve and the Monastery of St. Baccamius.

Prices start from 4,240 euros per person.
