We R Nuts, Port Washington, N.Y., is recalling 11-ounce containers of its Uncle Giuseppe brand milk chocolate bridge mix because it may contain undeclared milk, soy and cashew nuts.
People who are allergic or have a severe sensitivity to milk, soy, or cashew nuts may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
Bridge Mix was distributed in New York and New Jersey through Uncle Giuseppes retail stores.
The recalled product is packaged in a clear, rectangular, tamper-evident plastic container. The sell-by date shown in the upper left corner of the label is September 4 to November 6. All packages state at the bottom of the label that they are distributed by We R Nuts.
The recall was initiated after discrepancies were discovered in the ingredient list on the label during testing of the facility’s products. We R Nuts executives have initiated a formal recall after noticing allergens missing from the ingredient label.
To date, no injuries or illnesses have been reported as a result of this recall.
