With Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix still having to be controlled like a “dog on a leash,” Josh Allen is giving hope that he can extend the Buffalo Bills’ playoff run, according to Phoebe Schecter.

A lot of factors appear to be stacked against the Broncos, who are playing at home for the first time in a week against a Bills team that fought their way to a 27-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend.
The only area where the Bills have a clear advantage is quarterback. 2024 MVP Allen is a much more complete option than Nix, who still needs careful management from Broncos coach Sean Payton during his second season in the NFL.

Talking about recent episodes Sky Sports ‘Inside the Huddle’ On the podcast, former Bills coach Schecter explained why he thinks the away team can win.
“This is going to be a huge test,” Schecter said. “Going to Denver, we saw what had happened to teams in the past: It would be too noisy and at a high altitude, so it would be a hostile environment.
“But there are a few teams in the playoffs right now that won’t survive because of their defense and their quarterbacks.

“Bo Nix has definitely improved over the course of this season, but in some ways he still feels like a dog, limited in what he can do and being manipulated in certain ways to look a certain way.
“And of course, that’s part of the game. Obviously, as a coordinator, as a quarterback, there are certain things you’re looking for, but I think it feels more intense because of the inaccuracy that comes up, certain play-calling, rollouts. You’re almost looking for ways to protect him more than you would want to see from a quarterback who’s been in the league for a few years now.”

The winner of the contest will face either the New England Patriots or Houston Texans in the AFC Championship Game, with the other divisional round game taking place on Sunday evening.
In the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers late Saturday night, while the Los Angeles Rams visit the Chicago Bears in a later game on Sunday.
