USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for Steak, Cilantro and Lime Burrito products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.
This product contains egg, a known allergen not listed on the product label. FSIS issues a public health alert to ensure that consumers allergic to egg products are aware that they should not consume these products.
A recall has not been requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.
The Steak, Cilantro, and Lime Burrito product was produced on June 19, 2026. The following products are subject to a public health warning:
- 3 lbs 2 oz L1 SD6170 1503, L1 SD6170 1535, L1 SD6170 1606, L1 SD6170 1639, L1 SD6170 1717, L1 SD6170 1750, L1 L1 SD6170 1503, L1 SD6170 1535, L1 package label SD6170 1831, L1 SD6170 1908, L1 SD6170 1954, L1 SD6170 2031, L1 SD6170 2108, L1 SD6170 2130 on the side.
Individual products are marked with the establishment number “EST. 46069” within the USDA mark of inspection. This item was shipped to Costco distribution locations in Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.
The problem was discovered by a consumer who confirmed that the product in the “RED’S STEAK CILANTRO AND LIME BURRITO” box was another product that contained eggs and was mislabeled. The consumer reported the problem to the manufacturing facility, which notified FSIS.
There are no confirmed reports of adverse effects from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about illness should contact their health care provider.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased this product are advised to refrain from consuming it. Please discard the product or return it to the place of purchase.
