Burritos recalled due to undeclared beans

Fresh & Ready Foods LLC is recalling Sprig & Sprout Spicy Breakfast Burritos and Fresh and Ready Spicy Breakfast Burritos because they may contain undeclared soy.

People who are allergic or have a severe sensitivity to soy may be at risk of developing a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Consumers who do not eat meat should also not consume these products. The recall began after sausages were found in products labeled as vegetarian.

The recalled product was distributed in package stores and vending machines in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The recall is limited to the products identified below that were produced between July 9 and July 12 at the Charlotte, North Carolina facility and had a “fresh on the shelf” date of July 20. All other products produced at the Charlotte facility are not affected by this recall, nor are products produced at other Fresh & Ready LLC facilities.

To date, no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.

The recall was initiated following two customer complaints that products labeled as vegetarian contained sausage. The unintentional inclusion of sausage contained soy, a major food allergen that was not listed on the product label.

Recalled products can be identified by the following label information:
