Why Cabarete?

Few Caribbean destinations are as closely associated with active travel as Cabarete.

Steady trade winds and warm seas have made the northern coastal city a world-class destination for kiteboarding and windsurfing, while its beaches attract surfers, stand-up paddleboarders and beach-goers all year round.

Beyond the water, Cabarete has developed a thriving wellness scene, with yoga studios, healthy cafes, fitness retreats and boutique hotels attracting visitors looking for a more active Caribbean vacation.

Events like the Butterfly Effect become an extension of that identity, bringing visitors and locals together while demonstrating the destination’s blend of adventure, wellness and community engagement.

As the 18th edition continues throughout the week, the Butterfly Effect remains one of the most unique gatherings in the Caribbean. It is a gathering that celebrates not only Cabarete’s natural beauty, but also the connections and opportunities that have made Cabarete a hub for women, wellness and water sports.
