City Hall: Mark Carney announced a Canadian plan to recognize Palestinian countries.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada plans to recognize Palestinian countries in September and will be the third G7 country to make such a presentation recently.

Kanni said it depends on democratic reforms, including the Palestinian authorities, which have Palestinian authorities next year without Hamas.

His remarks have announced that they will recognize Palestinian countries as long as Israel agrees with the ceasefire and other conditions in September after the British announced that it would recognize the Palestinian state in September and agree with France a week after the announcement of a similar plan.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry rejected Canada’s announcement and called it a “reward for Hamas.” Most of the 193 UNs in the United Nations officially recognize Palestinian countries.

Kani said Canada will officially recognize the state of Palestine at the upcoming UN General Assembly.

He cited the occupied Westbank’s Israeli settlement, the humanitarian situation of the Gaza, and the Israeli attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023, as a reason for the dramatic change of foreign policy in Canada.

Kani told reporters on Wednesday, saying, “The level of human suffering in Gaza is incredible and quickly worsening.”

He said that the recognition of the Palestinian countries depends on the promise of the Palestinian authorities basically to reform governance and to diligate the territory.

Canada has been devoted to two weeks as part of a long -standing peace process, but he added, “This approach is no longer excellent.”

“The prospects of the Palestinian countries are eroded before our eyes,” he said.

Carney announced on Wednesday at a press conference with Palestinian authorities’ Mahmoud Abbas.

Palestinian authorities control part of Westbank through Pata Party, led by Abbas, and Hamas runs the Gaza. No region has held elections since 2006.

Carney’s announcement was accused by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In X’s post, Canada’s plan was “a framework for efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and the disclosure of hostages.”

Canadian Conservative Party also had a problem with Carney’s announcement.

The opposition party said in a statement, “On October 7, if you recognize the Palestinian state in the aftermath of the cruelty of terrorists, you will send a wrong message to the world.”

The prime minister has been under pressure to deal with Palestinian countries since the British and France (close to Canada) recently made a statement on this issue.

About 200 former Canadian ambassadors and diplomats signed a letter to Carney to recognize Palestinian countries on Tuesday.

Canadian principles, letters “In Gaza, it is abandoned every day due to the massive displacement of the Palestinian civilians, indiscriminate bombings, and violent attacks by extremist settlers in Westbank.”

Carney asked whether he was influenced by the announcement of the United Kingdom and France or whether he consulted with US President Donald Trump. Carney responded that Canada made its own diplomatic policy decision.

If France and the United Kingdom officially recognize the Palestinian countries, the United States, the powerful ally of Israel, will be the only permanent member of the UN Security Council.

The Israeli army started the campaign in Gaza in response to Hamas -led attacks on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, and about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were held hostages.

According to the territory Hamas-Run Health Ministry, more than 60,000 people were killed in GAZA and 154 people, including 89 children, died in malnutrition.
