I didn’t know what I wanted from Dior. I knew I wanted to test myself at the end of the year. So when I walked in, I said I wanted something in calfskin rather than sheepskin because it’s much more durable and big enough to fit a cell phone. Color and style weren’t that important. I’m one of those girls who will know when she finds out and I had to love it.
In the end, there were three bags that I fell in love with. A small Lady Dior in exotic burgundy, the prettiest Himalayan Lady Dior, and a black Dior Jolie top handle bag. Although the Dior Jolie lacked the wow factor of the other two, I found this piece to be more dressy and could be used as both an everyday designer bag and an evening bag. It also comes in sheepskin, so if you want calfskin, choose transparent!
Unfortunately the Himalayan Lady Dior cost me more than I wanted to pay. Because it’s definitely my dream bag and it’s absolutely amazing! It’s time to go to work. Then I think I can afford it!

What I really love about the small Dior Jolie top handle bag in calfskin is how versatile it is. Both the top handle and shoulder strap can be added or removed as needed, and the gold ring on the top can be added and removed like a key chain. So you can have four bags in one: top handle, clutch, crossbody or Dior shoulder bag. The shoulder straps are also adjustable, so even people of small stature like me don’t hang too low.
The gold and pearl details on the straps and CD logo clasp were also popular because they were so pretty, feminine and glam, giving it a more luxurious feel than a basic flap bag and working as both a day or evening bag. The shoulder straps are also made of leather and are more comfortable than those made with chains.
Lastly, size and price were the deciding factors. The Dior Jolie top handle bag in calfskin is available in two sizes.
- Mini Dior Jolie Top Handle Bag: 19 x 12 x 7 cm / 7.5 x 4.5 x 3 inches (length x height x width) $5,300.

It’s not a big size difference, but it’s still enough. I chose the smaller one because it felt like it would be more practical, and I found it would be fine as an everyday designer bag but not too big to use as an evening bag, and it wasn’t much more expensive than a mini.

One of the selling points for me was that the Dior Jolie top handle bag was aesthetically pleasing and versatile because it was both a top handle and a shoulder bag. What fits the Dior Jolie top handle bag?
I make sure it fits my body a lot, but I’m careful not to stretch it out. I can fit keys, card holder, Dior sunglasses case, lipstick, and powder compact inside. In the evenings, I plan to replace my sunglasses case with a portable light that I take with me everywhere to take pictures.

What’s great about Dior Jolie is that it is made of caviar leather rather than sheepskin, making it more durable. But if you don’t mind paying more, Lady Dior is made from more durable materials such as Lizard, Ostrich and Himalayan.
I found it much easier to get into the clasp and flap openings of the Dior Jolie bag than the small top opening of the Lady Dior (zip on older models, flap on newer models).
Lady Dior has protective feet on the bottom, Jolie does not. I wish I had. Lady Dior comes in a lot more colors than Dior Jolie. It is also an icon.
It’s so hard to choose between the two because they are both beautiful everyday designer bags. However, if you want a feminine product that is easy to carry in your bag, choose Dior Jolie. If you’re looking for a classic investment piece, choose Lady Dior for more color and size options. The Dior Jolie top handle bag is only available in black or latte.
