Cameron is the only professional opponent to beat Taylor, and Taylor got revenge in the subsequent rematch.

The definitive trilogy fight never materialized. When the opportunity arises, Cameron will box Taylor for the third.

“I think this fight is a trilogy that makes sense as a women’s trilogy.”

But Cameron doesn’t see that happening. “Katie Taylor wouldn’t accept that as her swansong,” Cameron said. “I don’t think it would happen because I had the wrong opponent, but that’s totally fine with me.

“I have accepted it and am looking forward to my future.”

“I want to be the undisputed fighter in the second weight division, but what I have learned from boxing is that it is completely unpredictable. It is difficult to be uncontroversial because it takes a fighter and a world champion to fight.

“There are a lot of disappointments in boxing and you don’t always get what you want, so I’m not going to put any pressure or stress on getting solid results in two weight divisions.

“Do you think I can do it? Sure. But will it happen? Who knows?”
