Charley Hull is aiming for a strong finish to her LPGA Tour season after overcoming pre-tournament passport issues and illness to achieve an impressive finish at The Annika.
A delay in renewing her visa means she will not be able to travel from England to Florida until Tuesday, and Hull will miss Wednesday’s pro-am due to feeling unwell and enter the tournament without a practice round.
Hull described how he ‘just ran the course’ during his opening round 68 at Pelican Golf Club, and a bogey-free 63 on the final day propelled him up the leaderboard with consecutive rounds of 67.

The British woman finished tied for fourth, five strokes behind Solheim Cup teammate Linn Grant, and Hull was pleased with her performance ahead of the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.
“I was in the car and I thought, ‘I’m going to do my best today and make as many birdies as I can and catch Linn Grant,’” Hull said after the final round. “I just played pretty hard all day.
“I hit it pretty well. I made some putts. It feels good to be able to play next week (CME Group Tour Championship), especially without having a practice round this week.”
Featuring only the top 60 players in the LPGA Tour’s Race to the CME Globe rankings, Hull is top-ranked in Europe in overall points for the season after another impressive campaign.
Hull won the Kroger Queen City Championship (her third LPGA Tour title) last September and finished runner-up at the AIG Women’s Open. Hull, 29, is now relishing the opportunity to return to the venue where she earned her breakthrough win on the LPGA Tour in 2016.

“I feel really good (about my confidence),” Hull added. “I won near that course (Tiburon Golf Club). It was my first win on the LPGA Tour, so I have good memories.
“I like the golf course because I spent some time there in 2019. So, I think I can finish the season well.”
The winner will be named the Race to the CME Globe champion and will receive $4 million, the largest single prize money in women’s golf history, and the runner-up will receive $1 million.

Major winners Miyu Yamashita, Grace Kim, Mao Saigo and Maja Starck are all playing alongside Grant, as is Nelly Koda, who is trying to avoid a winless season on the LPGA Tour.
Hull is joined on the scene by compatriot Lottie Woad, who made her debut after turning professional in the summer, and now have two British women in the world’s top 10 for the first time in their history.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Golf podcast earlier this summer, Karen Stupples said she believed Lottie Woad ‘has the potential to be the best player in the world’.
Grant, Celine Boutier, Carlota Ciganda, Maja Stark, Esther Henseleit, Madelene Sagstrom and Leona Maguire are among the other European players in action, while world number one and defending champion Jeeno Thitikul is the most ranked of the season with two wins and 13 top-10 finishes.
