
EDTECH Company CHEGG sued Google that the summary of search results of technology large companies has hurt CHEGG’s traffic and profit.
In a lawsuit submitted to the US District Court in the Columbia Special District, CHEGG accuses Google for unfair competition, especially mutual transactions, monopoly maintenance and unfair strengthening. Chegg forced the company to supply content to be included in the Google search, and unfairly exerts monopoly power to achieve the benefits of third -party IP.
Chegg pursues not only the prohibition of Google’s “illegal and unfair” acts, but also compensation and other relief.
Chegg is only the latest publisher who raises problems with Google’s efforts to inject Google Search into AI. According to a number of news media, it affected traffic in the AI summary of Google, which is being searched, and answers the Google search user query in the sources around the web.
