Lossiemouth held off all rivals to secure a stunning victory in the Unibet Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

The 7/5 favorite targeting this race via the Mares’ Hurdle (an event she has won twice) was one of three runners trained by Willie Mullins, with stable jockey Paul Townend selected.

The gray mare’s Cheltenham record was perfect in Tuesday’s feature race and remained so afterwards and she did not see any sort of trouble ahead of Brighterdaysahead’s six-and-a-half length defeat as The New Lion finished third.

Alexei ran a great race to finish 4th, just ahead of the plucky defending champion Golden Ace.
