Club Med, Japan ski resort set to open in December: Travel Weekly

Club Med has announced that it will open its Club Med Kiroro grand all-inclusive ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan, in December.

The 266-room hotel is a three-minute gondola ride from its sister property, Club Med Kiroro Peak, which opened last year.

Club Med Kiroro Grand offers guests access to 23 trails and off-piste slopes for a variety of skill levels in the Asari and Nagamine mountain ranges, with unlimited ski-in/ski-out privileges, lift passes, and group ski and snowboard lessons included with your stay.

In addition to skiing, the resort also offers other winter sports activities and cultural excursions, including day trips to the coastal city of Otaru.

The hotel will feature Club Med's first traditional Japanese hot spring, a wellness lounge with sauna and hot stone rooms, a Club Med spa, an indoor pool and several Japanese restaurants.

Club Med Kiroro Grand and Club Med Kiroro Peak join Club Med’s Japan-style all-inclusive portfolio, joining Club Med Sahoro Sapporo, Club Med Tomamu Sapporo and Club Med Kabira Ishigaki in Okinawa.

The Japanese expansion comes as Club Med continues to strengthen its commitment to improvement across its properties in other regions. The company recently completed an extensive renovation and expansion project at its Club Med Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic and has begun work on a refresh of its Club Med Buccaneer's Creek property in Martinique, which includes updates to the resort's guest rooms, reception area, main restaurant and bar.
