Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has hit back at President Trump for criticizing Britain’s response to the Iran conflict.
“It won’t surprise you that we don’t agree with President Trump on every issue,” Cooper said Sunday on an appearance with Laura Kunsberg.
She added: “It is the Prime Minister’s job to make decisions in the UK’s national interest, not in the interests of other countries.”
Previously, the US president announced in a social media post that Britain was considering sending an aircraft carrier to the Middle East. He seemed dismissive of the move, writing, “We don’t need anyone going to war after we’ve already won!”
