De Lune: Catching Up: Wears/Wares

IMG 9796

Observe: It took me two years to catch up with the stuff that filled my apartment and a few fun outfits.

Here are some products/clothing.

Rachel Comey I made flare fishnet pants. I’m pretty sure I only wore it under my dress. This is especially true in summer when you want to wear clothes that feel closer to fall but still have a sweet, sweet air. Here I’ve paired them with: Theiskens’ theory A dress with two unique colors.

Please note: I really liked Theyskens’ theory in college. From 2010 to 2014, Olivier Theyskens led the design. It’s a super-cool, sleek, and perversely utilitarian city girl-friendly collection from a sub-brand of Theory, and there’s something about the clothes from that era that I just can’t shake off. Everything felt sexy and dark.

This dress is actually made up of two things. A-line shift with shimmer/smoky chiffon overlay and a hidden hooded pocket beneath the overlay!! I mean!!!

Jevins surprised me last year with a wall holder he made for my Mezzaluna helicopter collection. This marble enamel pie tin pan is from the late 1800s. It sits in the kitchen’s butcher section alongside some late 19th century culinary ephemera that I proudly discovered at a local thrift store. Pie tins are great for a cheese plate dinner at home.

A dreamy mother-of-pearl stamp holder that I jumped in to buy. Everdine Antiques. I use it to preserve scraps of paper and collage cutouts.

no way grained morton necklace paired with mine Bing Bang Nameplate. I wore this outfit with my grandmother, Carol, right after she passed away this year. Geist is actually her maiden name. When my father was in college, he changed his name in her honor.

It may not seem like it now, but somehow this precarious stacking situation didn’t topple over for two years.

Grýla hiding under a tattered blanket <3.

We have been purchasing floral sheets from Spoonflower for several years. Although it causes a lot of nosebleeds, it satisfies the look of the ‘flower bed’ we wanted to create.

I need more red hangers. When I go to thrift stores, I often find and purchase antique hangers that people overlook. Some of them are handcrafted or hand finished! When I was getting my outfit ready the night before the event, I put something special into this red lacquer number.

When I decided to regrow my hair after shaving, I bleached it in the heat of the moment.

It was a winter where I matched my outerwear to my hair color.
