Delta postpones return to Israel until June 7: Travel Weekly

Delta now plans to resume service to Israel on June 7 with daily flights from New York JFK to Tel Aviv.

The airline had previously set a May 1 reopening date for Tel Aviv, but said late Wednesday it had postponed the restart following an extensive security risk assessment.

“Delta continues to closely monitor the situation in Israel in collaboration with our government and private sector partners,” Delta said.

Before the October 7 attack by Hamas that sparked the Israel-Hamas war, Delta operated daily flights to Tel Aviv from New York and Atlanta and three times a week from Boston.

Currently, Delta customers can fly to Israel through codeshare with El Al from New York, Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Delta Air Lines will resume service to Tel Aviv with an Airbus A330-900, which will add nearly 2,000 seats per week to the New York-Israel market, the airline said.

Last week, United became the first U.S. airline to resume service to Israel, with daily flights between Newark and Tel Aviv.

Skift reports that American Airlines does not plan to resume flights to Israel until October.
