Delta Air Lines will increase service to China this fall as the U.S. and China ease restrictions on flights between the two countries.
Delta will begin daily service between Seattle and Shanghai and three times a week between Detroit and Shanghai starting Oct. 29, up from the current twice-weekly service on both routes.
The airline also announced Wednesday that it plans to resume flights between Los Angeles and Shanghai four times a week in March of next year. Delta last operated flights between Los Angeles and Shanghai in February 2020.
Between the U.S. and China, airlines in each country are currently limited to a total of 12 round-trip flights per week. The DOT announced last week that that number will increase to 18 on September 1, and then to 24 on October 29.
